Effective January 1, 2012, all Texas municipalities must enforce the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) for single-family residential construction [34 TAC §19.53(a)]. Changes in the Residential Energy Efficiency Code (Chapter 11) include energy testing requirements, which could have a tremendous impact on your code compliance daily operations. Fox Energy Specialists can help your agency implement an effective energy code compliance program with ease, accuracy, and true accountability.

As dictated in the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), energy code testing is now required for all residential single-family construction in Texas permitted after January 1, 2012. Fox Energy Specialists does this all day, every day, as an independent third party. Our certified staff can perform the necessary duct blower and blower door tests to keep your project compliant, without bogging down your day-today operations.

Need help with energy code visual inspections? Although energy testing is our specialty, our certified professionals can certainly help your agency perform visual energy inspections, too. Staying on top of energy codes (even the visual inspection items) can be a full-time job (And we should know – we've made it ours!). So if your code-compliance crews are too busy, keep us in mind!

When it comes to enabling low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills, our fully accredited Energy Specialists can complete all aspects of a Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), from complete energy assessments to unbiased post inspections of weatherized homes.

Energy Assessments are the first step in enabling low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills. Fox Energy Specialists can complete all aspects of Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) field inspections and assessments. Qualified homes are inspected by our experienced and fully accredited energy specialists. During the inspection, the specialist listens to the homeowner to determine any comfort issues, does a thorough walk-through of the home, and performs whole-house and duct-leakage tests. After the inspection, all of the collected data are compiled and entered into the National Energy Audit Tool (NEAT) software. This software was specifically developed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory to best identify the energy-efficiency measures needed for a home.

Weatherization is not just for single-family homes. Fox Energy Specialists can also inspect, test, and assess multifamily homes!

Once the weatherization work is all done, what's next? Fox Energy Specialists is an independent third-party company, allowing us to provide an unbiased post inspection of a weatherized home. The post inspection includes verification of completed work and a repeat of the blower door and duct-leakage tests that were conducted during the initial field inspection, to confirm leakage reductions.
