Services for Local, State, and Government Agencies

Energy Efficiency Auditing and Testing

In order for your agency to maximize its energy efficiencies and building performance, it is important to evaluate and test your buildings in their existing state. Fox Energy Specialists offers a full service range of energy efficiency testing, from basic energy efficiency visual reviews to investment grade, comprehensive energy audits which include Infrared thermography testing, blower door testing, and duct blower testing. Through these various tests and inspections methodologies, we can assess each building to identify energy conservation measures that will improve your energy efficiency.

Fox Energy Specialists will walk through the existing building(s) and inspect mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems as they relate to each building’s thermal envelop. Construction drawings and specifications that are available can be very helpful during this task, but any incomplete data or building specifications can be recorded and verified by our certified technicians on-site. As appropriate, an energy audit may include any of the following tests:

  • The Infrared Thermography (IR) photos, and Infrared Thermal Imaging (infrared scanning), technology identifies improper or uninsulated areas by identifying temperature differences within your building envelope. Infrared Scanning can also locate electrical hot spots where faulty wiring may exist, plumbing leaks, and numerous other conditions which identify both energy and water saving measures.
  • The Building Air Infiltration Testing and Analysis utilizing Blower Door technology determines the status of building air sealing and the re-direction of air.
  • The HVAC duct leakage testing and analysis utilizing Duct Blower technology identifies unacceptable levels of leakage from the heating and air conditioning ducts.
  • In conjunction with an air-sealing program, we recommend Indoor Carbon Monoxide measurement and analysis utilizing certified testing equipment identifying excessive amounts of carbon monoxide, which may be produced from gas appliances (water heaters, HVAC, stoves, etc.)
  • Equipment and Appliance gas leak detection and reporting identifies natural gas leaks.
